10TON002: Area Zero - Altered Beats / Abducted

Artist: Area Zero
Tracks: Altered Beats / Abducted
Cat No: 10TON002
Release date: 12th March 2012

10 Ton is a Portsmouth based bass music label primarily focusing their efforts on Dubstep, Grime, and Drum & Bass. Established in 2010 and successfully releasing their debut single featuring Sekklow’s dance floor smasher “Transmit” and “Man On The Moon” from Bournemouth’s Audio Sleaze. Still focusing on quality over quantity 10 Ton are very pleased to announced their follow up single:

Area Zero – Altered Beats
This one is for the 16bit gamers amongst us!

An extremely eerie introduction as the tune proceeds to add layers building the tension towards the vocal… “Rise from your grave”!

A stinkin’ bassline of epic proportions smacks you square in the chops!

Chaos ensures as the tune progresses amidst the wonky basslines, stuttered beats and vocal snippets!

Certified banger!

Area Zero – Abducted
An epic introduction as you can feel the drums punching you deep from the subs.

Tensions build as they drop you into a heavy reece and vocal combination.

Abducted very quickly builds towards the drop, that nasty reece makes a welcome return as all hell breaks loose with crashing rides, break switches and a chest thumping bassline!

This tune certainly gives a nod to those classic D&B days of old that we cherish so dearly.

10TON002 is available from all good digital stores from 12th March 2012 and is distributed by Nu Urban Music.

10TON001: Sekklow - Transmit / Audio Sleaze - Man On The Moon

New Portsmouth based Dubstep & Grime label 10 Ton has released their debut singles featuring South Coast talent Sekklow (Suicide Dub) and Audio Sleaze. A brief bit of history, 10 Ton started by running a very successful Dubstep & Grime night in Portsmouth in May 2008, with many major dj’s in the Dubstep scene gracing the decks since it began alongside local talent. 2010 saw a great opportunity to continue the support for South Coast talent and start a label under the same name to showcase these artists. So here we are in October 2010 with two absolute bangers from Portsmouth based Sekklow who has recently seen great success with his debut single “Be Alright” on High Rankin’s Suicide Dub, and Bournemouth based foursome Audio Sleaze who have all had previous success separately under other guises. Onto the music…

Sekklow - Transmit by 10 Ton

Sekklow - Transmit
Kicking off with a lush pad and a beat with swagger (on a hundred thousand trillion!) it doesn’t take long before Sekklow’s Transmit draws you in. Once the beat stops the intensity begins to rise before a mystery voice informs you it’s time to TRANSMIT! Chaos ensues shortly after as you’re treated to a wall of bass smacking you squarely in the face! Transmit has been a firm favourite of the BBC’s In New 1Xtra DJs We Trust’s DJ Swindle. Guaranteed club smasher right here!

Audio Sleaze - Man On The Moon by 10 Ton

Audio Sleaze - Man On The Moon
Starting with a very dark sinister sound before teasing you with a preview of whats to come. As the bass begins to tell the story an echoed voice enters the frame leading up to the drop. This one hits hard and relentlessly leaving no room to stop and catch your breath!

Both tunes have been damaging dancefloors worldwide on promo for the past few months.

10TON001 is available from all good digital stores from 11th October 2010 and is distributed by Nu Urban Music.
